Hanxiao successfully defended his PhD thesis (minor correction) with two examiners, Prof Allan McRobie (University of Cambridge) and Prof Valentina Serra (Politecnico di Torino). Hanxiao's work primarily focuses on the theoretical investigation of a novel switchable insulation technology, an opaque insulation system capable of reversibly alternating between a thermally conductive and insulated state. Hanxiao now worked as a postdoc at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) to further develop this technology.
